LUMIX Camera Companion is an independent Android app from ChrisProTech. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions.
Information used by the app
- Camera and network details. Bluetooth and local Wi-Fi are used to discover and control a camera. Camera names, addresses, aliases and preferences you choose to remember are stored on your device. Camera commands and media requests go directly between your device and camera.
- Location. If you enable location tagging, your phone's location is sent directly to the connected camera. A user-started foreground session can continue while the phone is locked or another app is open, and may retry a lost Bluetooth connection. The app does not send location to a ChrisProTech server. Stop tagging in the app or its notification to end updates and reconnect attempts. A recent session history is held locally in memory; it does not prove a photo has GPS metadata.
- Camera media. Photos and videos are read from the connected camera for previews. Files are saved on your Android device only when you request a transfer or monitor-quality copy.
- Diagnostics. A bounded log is held locally. It can include device and camera model details, timestamps, connection events and errors. The app attempts to redact secrets and Bluetooth addresses, but review a log before sharing it. A log leaves your device only when you choose Share support log and select a recipient. If you send it to us, we use it to investigate your report.
Accounts, advertising and analytics
The current beta requires no account and includes no advertising, analytics or automatic crash-report upload. It does not automatically upload camera media, location or diagnostics to ChrisProTech.
Your choices and retention
You can leave location tagging off, stop an active session, remove saved cameras, and change Android permissions in system settings. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes app-private settings and cached logs. Downloaded media may remain in your device's Downloads folder after uninstalling. Content you deliberately shared with another app or person is managed by that recipient. Contact [email protected] about a support log you sent us.
